How Important Is Your Blog’s Theme?

niche blog themes
Many blog owners think that their blog theme is not important and doesn’t affect their profits.

WRONG!

The truth is that your blog theme can help establish your business (and your product) as a serious contender, or make it look like another fly-by-night operation. Which one is yours?

A study by researchers at Carleton University in Ottawa show that first impressions count in website design. They showed that people form opinions about the look of your website in as little as 1/20th of a second. Therefore, the aesthetic of your design is an extremely important factor in the success of your blog and online business.

Here is what it says:

“This research shows that reliable decisions about your site can be made in as little as 1/20th of a second.“

“Even though your site may have superior products, services, or usability, an initial negative impression from a poor or slow design can steer customers towards your competition.“

People do judge your blog by its cover, which is the theme you’re using. You probably spend lots of money, time and energy to drive traffic to your blog. If after all your efforts you end up losing your visitors because of a badly looking blog, you end up losing not only a potential sale, but also a potential repeat customer, as that visitor will probably never come back to your site again.

It’ that crucial !!!

If visitors navigate away from your blog because they don’t like the way it looks, they obviously will not bookmark it, will not click the “Like” button and will not tell their friends about it.
Your blog appearance should draw your visitors in and entice them to stay as long as possible in order for you to achieve your desired results.

You only get one chance to create a good first impression, so make it count! A clean, professional, and fast-loading site can ensure that your first impression will be a good one.

Only 8 Seconds?

niche blog themes
- “It’s The First Impression That Will Either Open The Door Or Close It”.

- “First Impression Is Last Impression”.

- “The First Impression Is Always The Best”.

These sayings may be clichés but they are really true when it comes to the appearance of your blog.

Did you know that research conducted by major retail corporations have found that when people arrive at a website or a blog, at least 50% of them will LEAVE that website within 8 seconds?

That means that your blog has to be able to make a great impression on your visitors within 8 seconds, OR THEY’RE GONE!

If you have nothing compelling to grab the visitor’s attention with, he’s gone. And once he’s gone, he’s probably never coming back and never recommending your site to others.

WHY is this happening?

Because people are “surfing the web”. They don’t have enough attention span or patience for badly looking blogs.

A good design is supposed to stop the visitor from “surfing” and get him to INTERACT with your blog – subscribe to your email list, buy your product, or click on an affiliate link.

Captivating your visitors in those first 8 seconds in a way that stops them surfing is CRUCIAL to your success, because once they are gone you’ll more than likely never see them again! (and that’s a fact!).

The philosophy behind my WP blog themes is that “you never get a second chance to make a first impression”.

I really think that making a good first impression is the KEY to any blog’s business success, and that In order for a blog to achieve the desired results (either people subscribing to your newsletter, clicking on your affiliate links or buying your products), a blog needs to have a professional, inviting theme, which will delight the visitors into taking the action you want them to take and have them coming back for more again and again.

What Does Your Blog’s Theme Say About You?

blog themes
In some ways, blogs are like homes. They represent your outlook, your attitude, your mannerism.

Your blog is the virtual representation of your company and your product. It’s your online identity.

A good, well designed, easy to navigate and search engine friendly blog will obviously rank high in search engine result page, resulting in more traffic, customers, and ultimately sales.

You might be working really hard to get traffic to your blog so that people buy your products or click on your affiliate links, but if you have a badly looking blog your visitors are more likely to close their browser or navigate away, and once they are gone you’ll more than likely never see them again! (and that’s a fact!).

The last thing you want is a blog that looks unprofessional and shabby, because that’s what your visitors will think about your product. The theme you choose for your blog should convey a trustworthy and professional image rather than a fly-by-night operation or a 5 minute “quick fix”.

As the famous saying goes – “you never get a second chance to make a first impression” – a totally professional looking blog gives your visitors a great first impression, the impression that you have given meticulous attention to every detail and you care about professionalism and quality. You are organized, focused and you really mean business.

With a bad blog theme you are more likely to be “shooting yourself in the foot” and sabotaging your own success. But if your visitors feel that they know you and can trust you, they are much more likely to take action and buy your products or subscribe to your newsletter.
